SikaCeram®-99 Floor & Wall KH

Cementitious tile adhesive

SikaCeram®-99 Floor & Wall KH is a prepacked cementitious tile adhesive. The product is ideal for installing ceramic tiles, homogeneous tiles. SikaCeram®-99 Floor & Wall KH can be used as thin bed or thick bed adhesive for floor and wall tiling works and is suitable for both internal and external.

Consumption

Consumption is always dependent on the substrate surface profile and roughness, the size of the tiles and the joints between them, as well as on the application technique (single adhesive layer on the substrate, or with an additional ‘buttering’ layer on the back of the tiles as recommended for tiles larger than 30 x 30 cm). Coverage: ~5.6 - 6.4m² per 20 kg bag (based on 2 mm mortar thickness).
Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

Concrete surface must be clean, sound, level and uncontaminated by oil or grease. Remove cement laitance, formwork traces and loosely adhering particles by sand blasting or high pressure water jetting. Absorbent substrates must be pre-wetted to saturated surface dry condition.

MIXING

Add SikaCeram®-99 Floor and Wall KH powder to ~4.0 - 4.6 L of clean water and mix thoroughly using a handheld or mechanical mixer for 3-5 minutes until a homogeneous lump-free paste is achieved. Allow the mix to stand 1-2 minutes and thoroughly re-mix for another 1 minute before using.

APPLICATION

Use a notched trowel for application onto the substrate and buttering onto the back-face of the tile to enhance the performance and proper coverage of the adhesive. Tile with deep grove should be properly buttered and ensure the tile adhesive grout have proper caverage in the inner grove of the tiles. The tiles should be firmly pressed onto the substrate and immediately tamped into position. Any adjustment of tile should be done within 20 minutes after application. Ensure the tiles and tiles adhesive are properly in contact with the substrate.

 

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Remove non-hardened SikaCeram®-99 Floor and Wall KH products from tools and equipment with water. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
